PostSubject: Twisted Sisters: Chapters One - Eleven   Tue 5 Dec - 6:41

Hello all, I've been a lurker on this board for a bit, and decided to join. I post my works on the ABDL story forum, but wanted to try a new venue as well. I do have a question though, is it ok to post only ABDL related stories on here, or do you have to do Furry works? I could never really get into the whole Furry thing enough to want to write a story in the genre. Lemme know, if it's not ok I'll pack up my gear and hit the old dusty trail.

Chapter One: Sugar And Spice...

Melina Baldwin snored softly, as she often did while she slept, despite the blazing ball of fire way up in the sky that, to "normies" as she called them, signaled the time to get up. The seventeen year old was currently in the "golden time" as many young Americans her age referred to it; the time where high school was over, and college was still an undetermined amount of time away. As Melina soaked in a dream about her favorite male anime characters taking turns kissing her beneath the full moon of some unknown, but wholly comforting and romantic landscape, the pitter patter of little feet crept closer to her sanctuary of slumber.

Rocio Baldwin, or Cio, as she preferred to be called crept as silent as a church mouse toward her comatose sister. Being six years old, Cio had been up since the literal crack of dawn, after all, there were cartoons to watch, and sugary puffs of corn and marshmallow to imbibe, and she couldn't very well partake in any of that if she slept the day away like a certain other person who's room she was currently standing in.

Cio stopped at the foot of the bed, her face plastered with a Cheshire Cat grin, she squatted down, and leapt onto the bed, more specifically, the exact point where her sister just so happened to be laying.

Melina's impassioned kissing session with Yusuke Urameshi exploded in a bright flash of pain and anger as her sisters' body collided with hers. Disoriented for only a moment, Melina grabbed Cio by the collar of her Little Mermaid nightgown, and pulled her back to her before she could roll off the bed and run back to her room. Melina held her sister close to her own body, "I've always wondered what it would be like if I were an only child," she said through gritted teeth, "all I have to do is squeeze, and I'll know." she finished, tightening her grip on her sisters torso just slightly. "I'll tell mom!" Cio wheezed as she squirmed to free herself. Melina let her go, "Begone with you urchin! And close the door on your way out!" she yelled as she pushed her sister away from her and off the bed.

Cio rubbed her knee as she got up off the floor after being launched to it, "You hurt me, I'm telling." she whined. "Tell all you want, just GO!" Melina roared from beneath her comforter as she hurled a pillow in Cio's general direction. With impeccable aim, the corner of the pillow hit Cio square in the eye, the siren like wail that ensued was ear shattering, thankfully it quickly receded down the hallway, and Melina was able to drift back to greener pastures.

Later on that day, the dead rose, and Melina padded to the bathroom, she did her business in the toilet, and then stripped and hopped in the shower. As the water cascaded and beaded on her body, Melina loudly belted out her rendition of "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benatar.

An attractive young woman to be sure, Melina stood at just a hair under 130 pounds, her ebony locks, with reddish undertones hung past her shoulders. Her China doll complexion, earned by months and months of Everquest, and minimal exposure to the accursed Sun, stood in stark contrast to her hair, giving her an almost sickly look, but despite it, she was still a looker. As Melina washed her waxed nether region, her finger softly caressed the delicate folds of her most sensitive area, she felt the nipples of her 24C breasts begin to stiffen, and her breathing quicken, her singing had long since ceased, as she now busied herself with other matters.

The pleasure was short lived however, as a banging on the bathroom door ripped her from the world of pleasure, and back to blah reality. Melina shut off the water, exited the shower angrily, and threw a towel around her body, and another around her hair. The banging continued till Melina opened the door, Cio stood there, hopping from foot to foot, "I hafta go!" she said, sounding like she was on the verge of tears. Melina smiled, "Aww, does baby Cio wanna try and use da potty like a big girl?" she said in a mocking tone that only caused Cio to actually start crying as she nodded her head; "I'm not a baby." she added after a few moments. "Alright squirt, prove it, if you can hold out for three minutes without having an accident, not only will I leave you alone until I go off to college, but I'll even buy you ice cream." Melina said, a sinister smile crossing her face.

Cio's face lit up, "Ice cream, you mean it?" she asked. Melina nodded, "Just hold on for three minutes, and the ice cream is yours." she said. Cio continued to do the potty dance, "Ok, I'll do it." she said. "Ready, go." Melina said, waiting till the second hand on clock in the hall got to the twelve again. Cio hopped on, and was fine for a minute, then started biting her lip after thirty more seconds, by the two minute mark, her hands were between her legs. Cio cried in earnest as she felt squirts of urine on her hands, she sighed audibly as her bladder let go, and she wet herself. As her hands filled up with the warm liquid, she cried harder, as they overflowed and pee traveled down her legs to pool on the floor beneath her, she sobbed, by the time the flow stopped, she was bawling like an infant.

Melina stood in the doorway, a self satisfied smile on her face, "Well, I guess maybe you spoke too soon about being a baby, didn't you?" she asked. Cio, defeated, could only nod. "Oh, don't look so sad." Melina said, "I'll tell you what, let me get dried off, and dressed, and then I'll give you a bath, ok?" she asked. Cio's look brightened slightly, "otay." she replied, the young girl often regressed slightly after she had an accident, sometimes it was the addition of a lisp to her speech, or sporadic use of baby-talk, other times she would just suck her thumb and want to be held.

Melina ruffled her sisters' hair, "Alright, while I get dressed, you clean up the mess you made." she said, making her way past the puddle, and retreating to her room, closing and locking the door behind her. Cio went and fetched a towel, she soaked up the pee, and headed toward the washer, she stripped herself, and threw her wet things and the towel in, and standing on a step stool, she set the washer to it's task. As the young girl strode through the hallway back to the bathroom, she shivered, her still damp skin was cooling rapidly, and she began to cry again.

Melina exited her room, and came upon the crying girl, "Does baby need her paci to help her stop crying?" she asked as she eyed her now even younger looking sister. Cio actually hesitated before shaking her head, "Alright then, in the tub with you then." Melina said as she guided the child to the bathroom. As the tub filled with warm bubbly water, Melina crouched down to meet her sisters eyes, "Hey, tell you what, since you lasted so long during your test, I'll still buy you that ice cream, ok?" she said, giving her sisters nose a tweak; "Reawy?" Cio asked, her eyes becoming saucers, Melina nodded, and hoisted her sister into the tub.

After the syrupy sweet bonding moment rich with deeply embedded sisterly love, Melina towel dried her sister, and helped her get dressed. The moment of mutual love that was shared during the bathing became a distant memory as Melina asked her sister if they needed to get her some diapers after they got the ice cream, Cio whined at Melina not to be mean to her, to which Melina just departed the room.

As the two walked around the mall with their ice cream cones, Melina saw a clothing shop for young girls, and took the opportunity to further be a bitch to her sister, taking the young girls hand, she led her into the shop. The shopkeeper greeted them warmly, asking how old Cio was, "She's four." she replied, an indignant Cio stamped her feet, "Am not, I'm six." she beamed proudly, Melina looked at the shopkeeper and held up four fingers, the shopkeeper chuckled, "They just can't wait to grow up." she said. Melina laughed, "Not this one, she's still straddling that potty training line." she said, patting Cio on the head. Cio teared up, and sullenly ate her ice cream. As the two walked through the store, Melina saw many things that she would just love to dress Cio up in, most had cute critters adorning them, or snap-crotch designs, but for some reason, Melina was drawn to them.

"I have to go potty." Cio's voice said, rousing Melina from her thoughts. Melina nodded, and the two left the shop, but not before Melina could grab a business card. As the pair entered the now bustling mall main area, Cio walked a little stiffer, "You gonna make it baby?" Melina asked, Cio looked up at her with pleading eyes, Melina knew the look, it basically said: "I'm trying to be a big girl, but I'm about to do something babyish.". No sooner had Melina's thought's finished, did Cio stop dead in her tracks, tears began running down her cheeks, mirrored by twin streaks of liquid running from the crotch of her jeans to the floor, where once again a puddle formed at the young girls feet. Melina just shook her head and waited for her sister to finish peeing, Cio sighed as she finished wetting herself, her thumb found it's way into her mouth, and she gave Melina the pleading eyes again. Melina wondered what the look was for this time, her sisters fart served as a suedo answer to the unasked question. Cio crouched down, and farted again, Melina went around behind her sister, hoping she wasn't planning on doing what she thought she was planning on doing. A bulge began to form in the back of Cio's pants, the young girl grunted softly, and pushed the mass into her waiting panties.

Melina could only watch in disbelief as her sister committed the ultimately babyish act. Cio finished and rose to her feet, "I wanna go home now." she said, and began bawling, in an attempt to avoid people approaching them, Melina grabbed her sisters hand, and ran from the mall. After putting a towel on the seat, Melina got her sister into the car, "Cio, what the fuck!?" Melina shouted, only causing her sister to cry harder. "We're stopping at the store before we get home, and we're getting you the diapers you obviously need." she said and drove off.

Melina parked the car and raced inside the market, she made a beeline for the diapers, and grabbing the most babyish style she could find, she ran to the checkout, as she made her way to the front, she saw some other items, pacifiers, bottles, a bib, she smiled and grabbed them as well as powder and wipes, and went to pay for her items. Back in the car, Melina sped off back toward home, the stench of her sisters mess causing her to roll down all the windows.

Moments later, the pair reached home, Melina silenced her still crying sister by putting the new pacifier in her mouth, Cio sucked on it pitifully, and waddled behind Melina into the house. "I should give you another bath, but you'll probably just poop in your diaper too, so what's the point?" Melina said coldly. She took Cio into the bathroom, and stood her in the tub and gingerly removed the now quieted girls soiled pants and panties, she then used wipe after wipe to get the sticky mess of her bum. Proclaiming her all clean, she lay her on the bathroom floor, and opened the package of diapers, she unfolded one and lay it under her sisters bottom, she then dusted her with powder, and taped the diaper in place.

Melina had to admit, Cio was adorable, she looked barely over three years old with her diaper on and a pacifier bobbing up and down in her mouth from the rhythmic sucking, Melina did the girls chestnut hair up in pigtails, and Cio looked as though she were ready for nursery school. Melina felt a warm feeling in her heart as she looked upon her sister, she smiled and hugged the girl tightly, as she pulled her away again, she felt a warmth elsewhere, for reasons she could not explain, she was getting sexually excited by Cio's appearance. "Ok, I think baby needs a nap before mommy gets home." Melina said, and hoisted the young girl up off the floor and onto her hip, she carried Cio to her room, and tucked her in, turning on the night light before she left, despite the sun still shining outside the closed curtains.

Melina went into her room and shut the door and locked it, "Ok, what a pedo freak I am, getting turned on by my little sister." she thought to herself, "Wait, the diapers and baby stuff, that has to be it, but why would that turn me on?" she thought. Melina shook the thoughts from her head, and climbed into bed herself. This time however, her dreams were not of Yusuke, nor Shinji Ikari, and not even D, no, this time her dreams were much odder.

Chapter Two: Nightmares and Dreamscapes

Dreams are funny, aren't they? You never really know what they mean, for example, if you had a dream where you were falling, it would mean that you felt overwhelmed by something that was happening in your life. If you had a dream where you were naked in public, it meant that you were an oversexed freak. But ask yourself this, what would a dream where you were wearing diapers mean? It would mean you wanted to wear diapers! Duh! Melina Baldwin found herself in this situation.

The moonlight cast shadows in the room through the window, the elaborate shapes cascaded over Melina's face, she mumbled in her sleep, and tossed slightly every few seconds. Her eyes danced below her eyelids, as her dream rolled on.

Melina stood in her room, she knew she was dreaming because everything she could see, including herself was cast in a sepia tone, as if she were in an old timey photograph. She walked out of her room slowly, she could hear soft music playing, it seemed to be coming from down the hall. Melina stepped into the hallway, it seemed to stretch for miles, she trekked toward the music, she stopped suddenly as she heard a child's giggling, she turned and saw her sister standing behind her, she was giggling softly, her hand covering her mouth in a vain attempt to stifle the laugh.

Melina took a cautious step back, "What's so funny?" she asked, Cio continued laughing, and started walking toward her sister. With every step she took, Cio's clothes began to change, where once was sweater, now had a shirt that said "Baby" in glitter, where Cio's pants had been, she now wore only a diaper, the toddler looking girl waddled ever closer to her sister. Melina began to get scared, she wanted to turn and run, but her body denied it, it forced her to stay where she was. Cio was suddenly right next to Melina, Melina screamed, her sister grabbed her wrist tightly, "Whewe you goin'?" Cio asked, now speaking perfect babytalk, "Youse gonna be jus wike me, we be togever fowever." she said and cackled maniacly, Melina screamed.

The darkness of the room did nothing to shake the willies away from her dream, Melina shot out of bed and flipped on the light. Alone, she was alone, nobody was in her room with her, no freaky "Pet Sematary" versions of her sister toddling about. Wiping the sweat from her brow, Melina walked out into the hall, and stood outside her sisters' door, she took a deep breath and entered the room.

The room was empty, she turned the light on, she scanned the bed, she even dared to look under the bed, "Whatchya lookin' for?" came Cio's voice from the doorway. Melina spun around, and scooted back quickly, away from her sister, "Jebus Cio, don't sneak up on me like that." she said, clutching her hand to her chest to slow her heartbeat, "Why are you out of bed?" she asked and got up, "I was thirsty." her sister said, and held up her glass of water as if to prove the statement. "Mom'll be home soon, do you need a change?" she asked, Cio nodded and blushed.

By the time Melina had finished changing her sisters' damp diaper, they heard their mother calling out from downstairs. "Coming ma!" Melina shouted down to her mother, "You stay here till I come get you, I've got to explain to mom why you're wearing diapers. You color a picture or something for her while you wait. Be good." Melina smiled at her sister, and closed the door as she headed downstairs.

As Melina explained the day's events to her mother, conveniently leaving out all the "being mean to Cio" parts of the story, she gauged the woman's reactions in an attempt to see whether she was angry or not. "And that's pretty much it." Melina said, sitting back in her chair, Bonnie, Melina and Cio's mother sighed, "Well, I think that you handled the situation well, thank you." she said, she got up and went upstairs, Melina followed. As they entered Cio's room, Bonnie's demeanor changed, she went from looking like she had a hankerin' for some spankerin', to looking like a new mother, she walked over to Cio and scooped her up, she hugged the little girl tightly, "Oh baby." she said with a smile on her face. Melina left the room before a Lifetime movie of the week broke out.

Melina sat in front of her computer as it booted up, she grabbed a Full Throttle from her mini-fridge, and sipped it, "Mmm, liquid crack." she thought, she clicked on the Everquest logo on her desktop, "And digital crack." she thought, and waited for the game to boot up. As she moved her level 17 dark elf through a forest she sighed, "Why can't I stop thinking about that dream?" she thought, she closed her game down, and moved to the window, dark clouds stood in the sky, "Like black Cadillacs outside a funeral." she thought. Flopping onto her bed, Melina sighed again, she closed her eyes, and somehow managed to fall asleep again.

The rain poured down outside, as the clouds finally burst, Melina stood up from her bed and walked out to the hall, it looked normal, no Poltergeist hallway, she walked into her sisters room, empty, she walked to the other end of the room and looked back so that she could see under the bed, nothing. Melina sighed, she looked down, and saw the package of diapers on the floor, she bent down and picked it up, "They're kind of cute." she thought as she pulled one out, she walked out of the room, and went back to hers, she put the diaper on the bed, and started to disrobe, "What's going on?" she thought, panicked, her body moved by itself, and she soon had the diaper unfolded, and was positioning herself over the waiting garment. Melina's brain screamed as the front of the diaper closed up, and was taped in place. She lay onto her back and jammed her thumb in her mouth, slurping on it greedily.

She gasped as her eyes shot open, "What the fuck was that?" Melina thought as she sat up and rubbed her forehead, the rain was pouring outside, Melina got up and headed for the bathroom, as she sat on the toilet, she tried to shake the fog from her thoughts, as she washed her hands, she splashed water on her face, "Maybe I've finally lost my mind," she thought, "if I had it to begin with." she thought with a smile.

Dinner passed uneventfully, as Melina poked at her food, she watched her sister, thoughts of the creepy toddler-like version of Cio from her dream crept to the forefront of her mind. Thoughts of trying on one of the diapers replaced those ones of her sister, and she pushed her plate away, "May I be excused?" she asked, "Not hungry honey?" her mother asked, Melina shook her head, "Alright, well, try and get some sleep, and feel better." her mother said, and kissed her daughter on the forehead. Melina went upstairs, and stopped in the hallway, she looked behind her and went into her sisters room, she looked around quickly, and grabbed one of the diapers from it's package and headed to her room.

She stared at the diaper as it sat on her bed, "I don't get it," she thought, "Why am I dreaming about wearing that?" she asked herself. Melina shrugged and took her pants and underwear off, she unfolded the diaper, and sat on it, she tried put it on, but it was too small, she held it in place and pulled her panties on, they served to keep the diaper on her, "Nothing, I don't feel any different, no magic, no desire to wet myself and masturbate." she thought, "Wow, that's a really gross thought." she said aloud. Pulling the diaper out of her panties, she threw it under her bed, and climbed under the covers. After laying in bed for many hours, listening to the rain outside, and then to her mother and sister going to bed, she pondered what her dreams meant, and eventually fell asleep again.

Chapter Three: A Most Common Problem

Rain still hadn't let up, the streets began to fill up with water as leaves and branches blocked the gutters. Melina sat at her desk, she didn't mind that the sun wasn't shining, she was happier indoors, happier with the rain. Pausing the episode of Samurai Deeper Kyo that she'd been watching, Melina went to Cio's room, her sister was laying on her stomach on the floor coloring a picture for their mother. Melina watched her sister for a few moments with a smile on her face, she left the doorway quietly, deciding not to disturb Cio.

Back in her room, Melina stopped the DVD she'd been watching, and pulled out her old copy of "The Vampire Lestat", the cover worn, and numerous pages dog-eared, she lay back on her bed, and settled into the realm of fantasy. Just as she finished reading about Lestat and Magnus, the power went out in the house. "Shit." Melina said, and closing her book, got of the bed. Cio came running into the room, "Mina, the lights went out, I'm scared." she said, hugging her sister's leg tightly. "It's daytime, what are you afraid of?" she asked the young girl, she looked down at Cio, the girl looked generally scared, Melina sighed and picked her up, "Alright, I'll tell you what, let's go and see if we can't get the lights to come back, sound good?" she asked, Cio nodded vigorously, and the two went to check the circuit breaker.

"I don't wanna go down to the basement." Cio said as they approached the door to the basement steps. Melina sighed, "If you want the power back on, we have to go down there." she said. Cio buried her face in her sister's chest, "I don't wanna." she cried. Melina turned around and went back to her room, she set Cio down on the bed, "Alright, how about we take a nap, and maybe the power will have come back on by itself by the time we get up." she said. Cio nodded, and climbed under the covers, "Hold it!" Melina said, she pulled Cio out from under the covers, and took the young girl's shoes and overalls off, leaving her in just a shirt and diaper, which Melina found to be dry. After helping her sister back under the covers, Melina ran and got one of the bottles she'd bought the day before, and filled it with milk and put it in the microwave to warm it, she tested the contents on her arm, and went back to her room. Melina climbed into the bed, and pulled her sister into her arms, and rocked the young girl as she nursed her bottle, Melina stroked Cio's hair as she watched the girl suck down the bottles contents, when the bottle was done, Melina placed a pacifier in her sisters mouth, and continued to rock the girl till she was asleep. Melina kissed her sister on the top of the head, "I love you Cio." she said, and closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep herself, she never heard Cio mumble her mutual love for Melina.

"Oh boy, more creepy nightmares." Melina's dream-self thought as she looked around the sepia toned room, she turned around to get a full 360 degree look at the room, she finished her spin, but the room kept going, faster and faster the room swirled, Melina felt sick, her head felt heavy and she started to fall. Melina's head hit the mattress with a thud, she kept her eyes closed for a few seconds, letting the world slow it's out of control rotations. Melina opened her eyes slowly, and rolled onto her back, she sighed, "Well that certainly did suck." she said as she rubbed her head. Melina shivered, she felt cold all of a sudden, she sat up, and saw that the front of her pants, and the surrounding bedding were soaked, she smelled pee too, "What the hell?" she thought to herself as she felt the wetness with her hand. "Looks like you need a diaper too." she heard from across the room. Thunder crashed outside, and lightning lit the dark room up, Melina saw her sister standing against the wall, the room darkened, and Melina squinted in the darkness to see her sister again, Melina got up on her knees and leaned forward, another lightning bolt lit the room, and now Cio was face to face with her sister. Melina screamed and shot back against the wall, Cio giggled, "Cawefuw baby, don't want you to have another accident." she said, and continued to laugh.

Melina's eyes shot open, "Wow, I may never sleep again." she thought, looking around the room, Melina saw that it was now much later, and to her happiness, Cio was still sleeping soundly next to her, and not against the wall, waiting to terrify her again. Melina carefully rolled onto her side, and that's when she felt the same cold, damp feeling from her dream. She nearly screamed, as her hand went under the covers and felt the wetness, "Ok, Cio's diaper must have leaked, that's all." she said, and felt the front of her sisters diaper, much to her chagrin, it was still dry. Melina began to cry, "Ok, no big deal, it's just a little accident, not the end of the world." she thought. Melina carefully lifted her sister off the bed, and carried her to her own room, after she got Cio tucked in, she went back to her room and started to strip the bed, "Shit, the power is out, I can't do laundry." she said aloud, she stripped the bed anyway, and put the bedding in the hamper in her closet, she then flipped the mattress, and put new bedding on.

After her candlelight shower, Melina went to her room and got dressed, then went to Cio's room, the young girl was still asleep, and Melina carefully climbed into the small bed, and pulled Cio into her arms. Melina sighed as she breathed in the scent of baby powder that the young girls room now was filled with. Melina saw Cio's pacifier on the bed, she picked it up, and started to put it back into Cio's mouth, but stopped, and put it hesitantly in her own mouth, she sucked it softly, and felt strangely calm, she closed her eyes, and fell asleep again.

"Maybe I have two babies now." a voice said, causing her eyes to open, Melina rolled over, and saw her mother standing above the bed. Melina was confused at first, but then remembered the pacifier, she pulled it from her mouth quickly with a blush. "Did you have a nice nap baby?" her mother asked giving her a pat on the head, more blushing ensued as Melina nodded shamefully. "Oh, I'm just playing with you." her mother said, Melina sat up, she felt another cold sensation, "Oh no, not again." she said aloud as she felt that she'd wet herself again. "Not again, what?" her mother asked, "Oh, nothing, is dinner ready?" Melina asked, trying to squeeze out of the conversation. "Yeah, it's ready whenever you are." she said, and walked toward the door, "And make sure that you get that bedding and those clothes in the wash, now that the power is back on, you can do laundry. Your bedding too." she said as she departed. Melina started to cry as she stripped the bed and herself, she went and took another shower, and then grabbed all the wet bedding from the day and took it downstairs and put it in the washer.

"How'd you know?" Melina asked her mother as she sat down to the table. "Melina, I've been a mother for quite a while, I know what a wet bed smells like. And FYI, next time scrub the mattress before you flip it." she said. Melina started to cry, "I'm sorry mom, it was an accident, it won't happen again, I promise." she said. Bonnie stroked her daughters hair, "It's alright baby, everyone has accidents now and again, just don't try and hide it anymore, if it keeps happening, we'll get you to the doctor." she said. Melina nodded and ate her dinner in silence.

After dinner, Melina flew to her room, and flopped onto the bed, the whole room reeked of stale urine, Melina got up and opened the window a crack, the rain still poured down, and occasionally thunder was heard rumbling in the distance. As she turned to get back on the bed, Melina saw the diaper under her bed, "Dear God, I hope she didn't notice that." she said and picked the diaper up. Melina sighed, and put the diaper on the bed, she then pulled her pants and panties down, and put the diaper inside, then she pulled the whole ensemble back up and adjusted it accordingly. "Maybe this would be better, if I just wore diapers like the big freaky baby I'm becoming." she thought, as she climbed back into bed. Melina lay in bed in the dark for a long while, she cried a little bit, then she stopped, "I'm just off because I'm not doing anything with my days, all I did today was sleep and eat and watch a few anime episodes. I need to get out, and do things." she said to herself, she yawned, "Tomorrow, I'll do things tomorrow." she said as her eyelids drooped and she fell asleep again.

Bonnie knocked softly on the door, getting no answer, she opened the door slowly, "Mina?" she whispered, and walked over to the bed. Bonnie's heart melted as she saw Melina laying in bed, her lips wrapped around her thumb. "Poor dear, the wetting must have stressed her out a lot." her mother thought to herself. Bonnie leaned in and kissed her daughter on the forehead, and rubbed her back, as she was leaning back, her hand grazed Melina's backside, her puffier backside. Bonnie felt Melina's bottom, "Oh, poor baby, she must have taken one of her sisters diapers so that she wouldn't get the bed wet again." she thought. Bonnie smiled as she left the room, she returned with one of Cio's pacifiers, and carefully removing her daughters thumb, placed it in the sleeping girls mouth. As she was about to close the door, Bonnie whispered to her sleeping daughter, "Don't worry baby, mommy's here, and she'll take care of you." with that, she closed the door, and left Melina to sleep.

Chapter Four: Down A Peg Or Two

The heater kicked on in the house, taking the cold air out of the room, Melina sighed softly as she snuggled into the warmth. Opening her eyes, Melina glanced at her clock, it was seven-thirty in the morning, she groaned softly and pulled the covers over her head. Under the covers, Melina found one of Cio's pacifiers, "What are you doing here?" she asked the inanimate object rhetorically, Melina looked around cautiously, and then placed the pacifier between her lips, she sucked softly on the object, and closed her eyes. Lying under the covers in the warm embrace of her bedding, Melina was disrupted by her body.

"Oh, dammit, why now?" she thought to herself, "I'm all comfy in bed, all toasty and warm, and now I have to pee. This sucks." she thought. Laying in bed for a bit longer, the urgency in her bladder building, Melina gave a frustrated grunt as she moved the covers off of her, and went to get up. Just before her feet hit the floor, Melina saw her slightly puffy crotch, "Oh yeah, Cio's diaper." she said, recalling the previous days events, and lay back in bed, relaxing her body, Melina urged her bladder to empty, she waited, but nothing happened. "How is it that toilet training is so difficult to master, but wetting a diaper is even harder to do once you've been toilet trained?" she asked, and started pushing on her bladder with her hands, nothing. Closing her eyes, Melina pictured a flowing river, she felt a spurt enter the thirsty diaper, "Now we're cooking." she thought, and went through every image of water she could think of, and before long, she was releasing her bladder into the diaper, she sighed audibly as the warmth tickled her groin and bottom, she lost herself in the feeling, and soon she was done. "Much better." she said and rolled off the bed, she felt wetness on the backs of her legs, she saw twin wet spots on the bed where she'd been laying, "Crap, I just can't win." she thought as she realized that her diaper had leaked. Crying, Melina pulled the wet diaper from her pajamas, balled it up and tossed it in her trash can, she wiped her eyes, and made haste to the shower.

Hearing the shower start, Bonnie made her way to her daughter's bedroom, she smelt pee again, she sighed, "My poor baby." she said as she saw the wet spots on the bed, and the wet diaper in the trash, she took a seat in Melina's computer chair, and waited for her daughter to return. Melina finished her shower, toweled herself dry, and blow dried her hair, she padded back to her room, and gasped when she saw her mother sitting in her chair, "Jeez, you scared me." she said, and went to her drawer to get her clothes. As Melina was getting dressed, her mother talked to her, "Honey, how long have you been having accidents?" she asked, Melina's heart began to race, she remembered that the diaper was sitting in the trash can, "Yesterday was the first time." she said, slipping her panties on. "Wearing a diaper to bed after only two accidents?" her mother said, "That seems like a pretty big choice to make." she said. Melina pulled a shirt on, "I guess, what's your point?" she asked. Bonnie sighed, "My point is that I want to help you, and it's obvious that you need it." she said looking at the wet spot on the bed, "I'm gonna buy you some Goodnights at the store, and if you keep having problems, we'll go to the doctor. Okay?" she said, and went to hug her now crying daughter, "It'll be ok baby, I'm here to take care of you." she said, and wiped the tear from her daughter's cheek, "Now get dressed, and come down for breakfast, I'll make waffles just for my special girl." she said and left the room. Melina smiled, she felt a warmth in her heart, she felt wholly loved, like all was right in the world, it was at this moment that Melina decided that her bedwetting would continue.

Taking a seat at the table, Melina smiled at the large stack of waffles on her waiting plate, "I loveses waffles." she thought to herself as she began to drown the meal in syrup. Ravenously, Melina devoured her breakfast treat, she looked up at her mother when she heard laughter, "Maybe I should have bibbed you." she said with a laugh, Melina wiped her face with her napkin, and saw that it was covered with syrup, just as her face must have been, she blushed when she saw the few drops of the sticky liquid on the front of her shirt. Melina's embarrassment faded away as she heard Cio's cries from upstairs, her mother went to tend to Cio, and Melina used the opportunity to slip quietly back to her room.

Melina read more of her book that afternoon while the rain started up again outside, Melina put her book away, and sat on her bed, staring out her window as she heard a knock on the door, "Go away Cio." she said, and waited, she heard the door open slowly, and heard crinkling as her sister neared her, "Why are you so mean to me Mina?" the doe eyed child asked, Melina smiled at her, "I'm sorry kiddo, I'm just kind of a bitch." she said, Cio cupped her hands over her mouth, and stifled a gasp, "You said a naughty word." she said, Melina ruffled the girls hair, "Yeah, I guess I did, what'd you want anyway?" she asked with a suspicious look to Cio. Cio smiled, "I want you to watch T.V. with me while mommy's at the store." she said, and tugged at Melina's hand. Melina stood up, "Alright, two hours of T.V., and then nap time for you." she said as she was dragged downstairs.

The two sisters sat on the floor together watching The Disney Channel, at first first Melina was bored, but she soon found herself not only watching the shows, but enjoying them as well. After a while, Melina smelled the strong odor of poop, and pee as well, a check of Cio's diaper brought the answer to the smell of poop, but to Melina's dismay, the odor of urine was coming from her, she'd wet her pants while watching T.V., and hadn't even noticed. Melina started to cry as Cio began giggling at her, "You had an accident, maybe you need diapers too." she said, Melina pushed her sister away, slamming her into the wall, "Shut up!" she screamed, Cio began to wail, and Melina just cried harder, knowing that she'd be in double trouble when her mother got home.

As she entered the house, her ears were met with two separate cries, she looked over the couch, and saw both her daughters sitting on the floor, both were bawling loudly, she set her bags down, and went and picked up Cio, she rocked the girl, and soothed her, she smelled the girls poopy diaper, and took her to her room to change her. With clean diaper on, and a pacifier in her mouth, Cio quickly calmed down, and told her mother what had happened, Bonnie told the girl to take a nap, and tucked her in and went to deal with Melina.

Melina was still sniffling as her mother came over to her, "Did my baby have an accident?" she asked in a syrupy sweet tone, Melina nodded shamefully, "From what your sister tells me, you had a bit of a tantrum too." she said, and helped Melina to her feet. Melina started to explain herself, but was stifled by a pacifier, "Hush now, mommy's here to take care of things now." she said, and led the disoriented girl to her room. After Melina was laid down on her bed, Bonnie left for a moment, and returned with the package of Goodnights she'd bought, and wipes and powder, she quickly stripped Melina's wet clothes, and with the expertise of a veteran mother, she had her daughter wiped and powdered, and in one of the Goodnights in moments. Melina sucked sullenly on the pacifier as her mother put her under the covers and stroked her hair. "I want you to be a good girl, and take a little nappy, ok baby." her mother said, and kissed her daughter's forehead, as she walked toward the door, she turned and said, "If you can behave like a big girl after your nap, I'll stop treating you like a baby." with that, she turned off the light, and left her daughter to sleep. Melina smiled behind her pacifier, "I don't know if I'll be able to do that mommy." she thought to herself, and closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Melina woke a few hours later, and got out of bed, her Goodnight sagged slightly with the weight of her pee, she smiled, and putting her pacifier back in her mouth, walked out of her room, and downstairs, her mother was in the kitchen making lunch for her girls. "Well hello there." Bonnie said as she saw her daughter standing in the doorway of the kitchen, she smiled at how adorable Melina looked with her paci and sagging Goodnight, "Just like when she was a baby." she thought to herself, shaking the fog of thought from her mind, Bonnie went to her daughter, "Did you have a good nap?" she asked as she led Melina back to her room, Melina nodded and smiled behind her pacifier. "That's good, and are you ready to be a big girl?" Bonnie asked, Melina paused for a second, her mind stood at a crossroads, to the left, her former role as big responsible Melina, and to the right, the tantrum having, big baby Mina, her heart raced as she skipped down the right path, and shook her head. Bonnie hid her surprise at her daughters choice, and shrugged, "Alright, I guess I have two babies to take care of tonight." she said with a smile as she changed Melina into a dry Goodnight.

At lunch, both girls were bibbed, and drank their milk from baby bottles, Bonnie had originally purchased the items for Cio, who, because of her behavior recently, had been demoted to baby status by her mother, Bonnie figured she'd use this opportunity to treat Melina the same way, and get her daughter to snap out of whatever funk she was in. Melina bathed in the love and attention that she received from her mother and decided she wanted this to last as long as possible, she sucked down her bottle, and ate her peanut butter and jelly sandwich messily, Bonnie cleaned her up and scooted her off to the living room with another bottle of juice. Cio ate slower and cleaner, "Why is Melina a baby now?" she asked her mother as she was cleaned up herself, Bonnie smiled, "She wants to be one for today, so I'm treating her like I'm treating you." she said, and gave the girl another bottle as well. As she cleaned the kitchen, Bonnie watched her girls in the living room, "Well, it may be a little weird, but it seems to be helping." she said, seeing Melina giggling at the cartoon playing on T.V.

The three ladies spent the day together, mostly watching T.V., but Melina and Cio did start coloring together, and they played nicely the whole day. Melina wet her Goodnight while she was coloring, and stopped when she felt the urge to poop, she looked at her mother, who was napping on the couch, "Ok, big decision time Mina, mess your diaper, and this whole thing could go up in smoke." the voice in her head said to her, "or," the other voice started, "it could push your mother to treat you like this for longer." it said. Melina's stomach cramped, spurring her to make a decision, she stood up, and tugged on her mothers shirt sleeve, Bonnie opened her eyes and sat up, "Mommy, I hafta go poopy." Melina said in her best Cio impression. Bonnie smiled at how cute her daughter was, chewing on her finger as she shifted from one foot to the other, Bonnie took the girls hand, and led her to the bathroom, she pulled the soaked Goodnight down, and sat Melina on the toilet, Bonnie waited while her blushing daughter did her business, and then wiped her bottom with a wet wipe when she'd finished. After getting a fresh Goodnight on the girl, she let her loose to go play till dinner was ready. "Weird, but helping." Bonnie thought to herself again, and went to make dinner.

Chapter Five: Thunderstruck

Melina awoke with a start when the first bolt of lightning crashed outside, she'd been having a wonderful dream about being a sword wielding heroin, hacking and slashing her way through hordes of ghouls and zombies, she sighed contentedly as she reminisced about her dream. Rising from her bed, Melina sleepily shuffled over to the window, she looked out upon the street, rain was starting to come down heavily, and a periodic rumble of thunder off in the distance began to increase in frequency, alerting Melina that the storm was coming their way.

Cio had pulled her blanket over her head in a vain attempt to keep the scary storm noises from reaching her ears. The young girl shivered under the covers, she hated storms, they always gave her the willies. Cio absently felt her diaper become warm as she wet herself from fear, the frightened girl sucked vigorously on her pacifier as the stormy night dwindled on.

Melina and Cio sat at the breakfast table, neither girl had slept well the previous night, their eyes were rimmed with dark circles, and they couldn't stop yawning. The bowls of oatmeal that sat before them were eaten slowly, and messily, as both girls' motor functions were impaired slightly from lack of sleep. Both girls had their meal caked on their face by the end, and small bits on their shirts as well, Bonnie wiped both girls faces with a warm washcloth, and made comments about having two very messy babies, which caused both girls to blush.

After the breakfast dishes had been cleared, Melina and Cio sat quietly in the living room watching Sesame Street, Melina had to admit that she was bored, she'd have loved to be watching Samurai Deeper Kyo, or Fushigi Yugi, Twelve Kingdoms, or some other such program, but as it was, she was stuck watching the silly Muppets sing about numbers and letters. It wasn't long after the bottles of warm milk were delivered to them, that both girls eyelids began to droop, and they eventually both gave in to their exhaustion and fell asleep.

Melina stood in her room, the sepia tones surrounded her again, as she looked around the room, she heard a rattling sound in the corner, she walked hesitantly toward it, it seemed to be coming from her full length mirror. When she reached the mirror, she saw that it had a cloth over it, the mirror shook periodically, and Melina's breath caught in her throat as she raised a shaking hand to the cloth, and quickly pulled it off. Her mouth hung open as she looked at the reflection in the mirror, it wasn't hers, she was looking at Cio, every move that Melina made, the Cio reflection made as well, Melina sighed, "Weird." she mumbled as she bent over to pick up the cloth, when she came back to a standing position, the Cio reflection was smiling at her, "Noos retsis, yrev noos." the Cio reflection hissed, then began to laugh, Melina shook in fear, and reached up to drape the cloth back over the mirror. Suddenly the Cio reflections arms shot out of the mirror and grabbed Melina by the wrists, "Come sister, be one with me." the creature said, and pulled the now screaming Melina into the mirror.

Melina sat up quickly, she was back in her bed, sweat was beading on her brow, her white undershirt clung to her damp skin, she breathed raggedly, trying to regain her composure. "I'm getting mighty fucking sick of that." she thought as she wiped the sweat from her brow, and lay back down, "I just wish I knew what the hell those dreams meant." she thought as she got up, as she walked to the door of her room, she felt her Goodnight sagging between her legs under her pajama bottoms opening the door, she padded into the hallway, and into Cio's room, the girl slept quietly, her pacifier nearly falling out of her half ajar mouth, Melina sighed quietly, and left her sister to sleep.

After getting her mother to change her soggy Goodnight, Melina went back to her room, and tried to do anything to get her mind off of her terrifying nightmare, she played Half Life 2 for a bit, then Shadow Of The Colossus, and then resigned herself to sitting in front of the window and watching the rain come down. "Mina?" her solitude was interrupted by a tiny voice coming from her doorway, turning around in her chair, Melina faced her sister, "Huh?" she almost grunted, Cio toddled over to her, her diaper rustling loudly, "I had a bad dream, can I stay with you for a while?" she asked, her eyes looking up at her, pleading, they were red from, what Melina assumed anyway, crying. "A bad dream," Melina thought to herself, "join the club.". Melina held her arms out for Cio, and the young girl smiled and climbed into her big sisters arms. As the rain came down outside, Cio slept peacefully in her sisters arms.

Long after her arms had fallen asleep, Melina still held Cio, the tingling sensation causing her mere discomfort, rather than pain. Bonnie entered the room, and smiled at the sight of her daughter's entwined in each other's arms, she rapped quietly on the door, Melina turned slowly so as to not wake Cio, "Yeah?" she asked, Bonnie walked in slowly, "I have to go into work for just a bit honey, are you guys gonna be ok alone for a few hours?" she asked with a smile. "I think we can manage mom." Melina responded, "Ok, well, call my cell if you need me." she said, and kissed both girls on the forehead, and walked toward the door. "Oh, I almost forgot, please take this order of Tupperware over to Mrs. Stevenson for me, she's having a big to do this weekend, and she really needs them." Bonnie said, and waved goodbye to her girls.

It's funny when you think about it, a day can start out like any other, normal and innocuous, and then the smallest detail can change the course of a life, the difference between staying inside and going out, can mean the difference between life and death.

Melina pulled her second boot on, and then her slicker, she already had Cio dressed, and was just putting the finishing touches on her own ensemble. grabbing her umbrella, and the Tupperware box, Melina took her sister by the hand, and the two stepped outside.

The rain made a soothing pattering sound as it came down on the umbrella, the two sisters trudged down the block to Mrs. Stevenson's house, as the sky rumbled overhead. Melina heard Cio humming as they walked, a few minutes later, the humming turned to singing, "I was caught in the middle of a railroad track," she sang softly, Melina felt a foreboding in her senses, she looked at Cio, "I looked around and I knew there was no turning back," the young girl continued, Melina now began to get scared, she tried to loose her hand from Cio's, but the young girl held on tightly, "my mind raced, and I thought "What could I do?"" the singing started to get louder now, "And I knew, there was no help, no help from you." Cio sang this part after turning to face Melina, Melina nearly screamed when she saw her sisters face, her eyes were a milky white color, devoid of pupils. Melina tugged as hard as she could to get her hand free from the young girls iron grip, the song continued, "Sound of the drums beatin' in my heart," the sky began to rumble now, as if trying to join in on the melody, "the thunder of guns tore me apart," Cio stopped singing, and looked her sister in the eyes, a menacing smile came over her face, "You've been - thunderstruck!" she screamed as the sky let out a deafening roar, and a bolt of bright white energy raced from the sky, and hit the umbrella that the two girls were holding.

Time seemed to move in slow motion, as the electricity coursed through the umbrella, and into the sisters bodies, the pair shook violently, and screams were snuffed out by the massive amount of energy ravaging their bodies. The energy built, and welled up, until it became so great that the two girls were thrown from each other in another bright flash of light. Melina flew twenty feet through the air, and crashed face first into the soaked asphalt of the street, she skidded to a stop, her face grating on the rough surface for a few feet. Cio flew against the side of a house, the siding splintering form the force of her tiny body smashing into it. Neither girl moved as the rain poured down on their unconscious forms.

Beep beep beep came the sound of the life support machine form beside her, her eyes opened slowly, and the world slowly came back into focus, her entire body felt like it had gone through a meat grinder, she looked around, she saw bars surrounding her, and cartoon characters adorning the walls. "Great, the put me in the nursery." she thought, her head hurt as she tried to recall what had happened, she remembered being hit by lightning, but nothing before or after that, she moved her arm to her head, and massaged the pain away. A nurse opened her door, and came in, "Thank goodness you're awake, we were getting worried about you little one." she said, and stroked the girls hair, "Little one? Crazy woman." she thought, and tried to sit up, the woman kept her lying down, "Ah ah Cio, you need to rest now, you're mommy will be here soon." Melina's eyes went wide, "Cio? I'm not Cio, I'm Melina." her mind cried out, she held her arms up with much strain, and screamed loudly when she saw the skinny six year old arms hanging in front of her, darkness began to surround her as she passed out.

Sitting up proved to be difficult, but she'd managed, now she looked down at her new body, "Yes, I think this is going to work out quite nicely." she said quietly, as a smile crept across her face. She pulled one of the bandages from her arm, and stared at the long gash it had been covering, the gash began to get smaller, as the wound sealed up, and healed right before her eyes, Cio smiled broadly, "Quite nicely indeed." she thought with a chuckle.

Chapter Six: 867-5309: The Number Of The Beast

Melina woke up slowly, her head aching, she rubbed her temple as she sat up, she was outside, "What now?" she thought to herself as she looked up at the gray storm clouds in the sky. Getting to her feet, she discovered that she was perched on high cliff, she walked slowly to the edge, and looked down, she gasped and absently wet herself as she looked down on millions upon millions of people writhing and screaming in agony down below, they all seemed to be on fire, but the fire was a bright green. Turning to run, Melina ran smack into her former self, and fell back to the earth. "Whoopsie daisies." a deep male voice said from her mouth, Melina scooted back slightly, not wanting to fall off the cliff, "Who are you?" she asked in a shaking voice as she slowly rose to her feet, her former body began to shake, and a horrible ripping sound split the air as a large black creature emerged from it's fleshy prison. "I am Xazax, king of the demons," the creature said, and picked her up by the throat, "and I will see you and your world burn." it said, and tossed Melina off the cliff, she screamed the whole way down, and plunged into the burning masses.

****************

Rising from the bed, Melina's former body strolled calmly out of the hospital room, and down the hall to the elevator, as it stood in the empty box, it raised it's head to the sky and inhaled deeply, then pushed a floor number button. When the desired floor was reached, it walked out, and down another hall, coming to a stop outside of it's destination. Looking into the room, the creature smiled as it looked upon it's former body, it entered the room and shut the door, "Hello sister dear." it said in Melina's voice, it derived great pleasure from the look of terror on Cio's face, it sniffed the air, "Ahh fear, it's been a long while since I smelled that." it said, and closed the gap between itself and Cio. Melina started to scream, but the creature grabbed her throat between it's thumb and pointer finger, "Ah ah ah, we can't have that now can we?" it said with a smile, "Fear not child, our battle is still a ways off," it said, and released her throat and walked toward the door, before it left, it turned around, "all that means is that I won't kill you yet, but rest assured you will suffer." it said, and left the room. Melina felt herself wetting again, and felt a large lump in the back of her diaper, she wanted to scream, she wanted to run, but all she could muster were some tears, and an infantile wail.

****************

The car ride on the way home a week or so later was more than a little nerve racking for Melina, she was in a carseat in her sister's body, and she was sitting next to her own body, which was currently possessed by a demon from Hell, "It's like some bad reality TV show." she thought, and looked over at her old body, it was looking out the window, the reflection in the glass showed it to be smiling wickedly, as if it had some kind of horrible scheme planned. Melina shuddered as she thought about her dream, "Is that where this thing is from?" she thought to herself.

When they got to the house, Bonnie took Melina upstairs, and changed her wet diaper, she put the small girl's pajamas on her, and gave her a bottle of warm milk, tucking her in, she gave her daughter a smile, "I'm so glad that you're ok Cio, I was so worried about you guys." she said, and hugged her daughter tightly and gave her a kiss before leaving the room.

Bonnie entered her older daughter's room, she smiled as she saw her laying quietly on the bed, she went over to her, and pulled the covers over her, and gave her a kiss on the cheek, "I love you Melina." she whispered, and left the room, the creature's eyes shot open after the door closed, "I wish the feeling were mutual, insipid cow." it hissed, and got out of the bed, opening the window, the creature jumped to the ground two stories below, and walked away to wreak havoc.

****************

Xazax strolled down the street as the sun began to go down, it's eyes scanned the streets for victims, it saw a woman and child sitting at the bus stop, and grinned evilly, "Ahh, the blood of the innocent, it's been years." it thought, and stepped off the curb. A horn began blaring, and tires squealed as the SUV swerved to avoid hitting the young girl, the vehicle spun, and crashed into a nearby street light, sparks flew from the light, and it came crashing down onto the top of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stumbled out of the car on shaky legs, "What the fuck is wrong with you?!" he shouted, "You can't see a fuckin' car comin' at ya?!" he continued, and reached Xazax, the creature grabbed the man by the head, and spun it completely around, with a sickening snap, sending the man crumpling to the ground like a house of cards. Onlookers screamed as they saw the heinous act unfold, Xazax growled, and leapt from the street, and onto the roof of a nearby building, and then to the roof of another.

****************

Climbing back into the house through the window, Xazax sighed and sat down on the bed, "I loathe humanity, filthy creatures milling about like insects, how easy it would be to snuff them out." it thought with a smile. "There you are, I was starting to get worried." Bonnie said, as she looked into the room from the hallway, she entered the room, "I wish you'd have told me you were going out, I made dinner and it got cold." she said. The two sat in silence for a while, then Bonnie felt so awkward that she got up and left without saying anything else. Xazax sighed, and rolled over, "Soon vile wench, very soon." it whispered, and went into hibernation.

Melina lay in bed, her diaper was wet, and she couldn't even force herself to sleep, she was so uneasy about being so close to an evil demon. She tossed and turned, but couldn't get to sleep, finally she got up from her bed, and padded over to the window, she looked out at the starless night, and wondered what she was going to do. As she stood there, she began to feel lightheaded, and soon the room began to spin, a white light came over her vision, and she came crashing to the floor.

Waking slowly, Melina looked through blurry eyes at her surroundings, her vision focused as she saw tall dark figures closing in on her, "Finally we have her." one of the figures said, "Yes, our plans are coming to fruition." another said, the last thing she remembered was a warm feeling coming over her, and then darkness.

Twisted Sisters

Chapter Seven: Family Tree

Melina had awoken in quite a different setting from the one she'd blacked out in, the tall dark figures were gone, and she was no longer in a dank chamber, she was in what appeared to be a tranquil forest. As she walked through the lush green environment, she could hear the sounds of critters moving about, she was barefoot, and the soft grass was cool under her feet. As she came to a clearing, Melina saw a beautiful lake, surrounded by trees, it was very quiet and secluded.

Stepping slowly toward the lake, she crawled up onto a rock, and looked down into the serene water. Upon seeing her reflection, Melina leapt away from the lake, she fell backwards off the rock, she braced for the impact of the ground, but it never came. Melina slowly opened her eyes, and saw that she was floating in midair, "What the hell is going on here?" she thought to herself.

"I can answer that for you child." a voice that sounded as if it were coming from the forest itself said. Melina looked around, she couldn't see anyone around, she felt herself being set back down on the rock by an unseen force.

"Who are you?" she asked, she looked around, "Where are you?" she continued looking around, "Where am I?" she thought. "All of your questions will be answered in due time my dear, first though, you must know who you are." the voice said to her. Melina got a confused look on her face, "I'm Melina Baldwin. Big mystery solved Mr. Voice." she said. The voice chuckled softly, "If you're Melina Baldwin, then who's reflection was that in the water?" the voice asked.

Melina turned back to the lake, and looked into the water again, the reflection looking back at her, it was a woman in her twenties, her chestnut hair tied back in a ponytail. Melina turned her head from side to side and the woman in the reflection mimicked her. "So who's she?" she asked, looking around for where she should direct her question.

"That woman is you." the voice said. Melina turned away from the lake, "What? How is she me? That makes no sense." she said.

The voice was silent for a moment, "Long ago, that woman fought the demon that has inhabited your sister, her spirit dwells within you." it said. Melina got a confused look on her face, "Her spirit dwells within me? This is all starting to sound like something out of a bad story." she said.

"Over a hundred years ago, that woman was living a normal life like you were, then everything was torn apart by the demon Xazax. Her village was ravaged, her family was slaughtered, she lost everything." the voice said. "The woman was devastated, she was left a broken shell of herself, all hope seemed lost, but then she met someone, a woman that changed her life." it told her. "The woman taught her how to fight, how to survive, and eventually, she was ready to face the demon, they faced off, and at the end of the battle their spirits were joined." it said.

Melina shifted her position on the rock, "Their spirits were joined?" she inquired. "Yes, they became one in a great explosion of energy, Xazax was absorbed into her being, and lived within her for the rest of her days." the voice said. "How is she me?" Melina asked, getting impatient with the long winded voice.

"After the battle, Xazax lay dormant within her, weakened from the battle. The woman lived the rest of her life, she married, had children, and died many years later. Certain parts of herself were transferred to her children, but the demon's spirit was also transferred to her offspring." the voice said, ignoring the impatient child's question. "This transference continued through the family, until it reached you and your sister, your sister receiving the spirit of the now fully recovered demon, and you receiving the dormant power of the woman." it told her.

Melina got off of the rock, "So, you mean to tell me that I'm the only person on Earth that has the power to stop this demon?" she asked, folding her arms in front of her. The voice was silent, Melina looked around, "Nothing more to say?" she asked, again, silence, "Then send me back home." she demanded. Another white light engulfed her, and she disappeared from the forest.

****************

Blinking away her disorientation, Melina found herself back in her room, she looked around, though she was now laying on the floor, nothing had changed, it was still nighttime outside, and looking at her clock, she saw that only a minute had passed since she'd "left".

Sitting up, she felt something very unpleasant in her diaper, she stood, and put a hand to her backside, and frowned and teared up, she had messed herself, and hadn't even known she'd done it. Standing, she waddled out of her room, and down the stairs to the living room, her mother sat on the couch, watching TV, the only light in the room, was the soft glow of the television.

"Mommy?" she quietly called, her mother sat motionless, her back to the small child. Melina slowly moved toward the couch, her soiled diaper crinkling softly with every step. The young girl came around the front of the couch, her mother sat silently, her head tilted down slightly, her eyes closed, "She's asleep." Melina thought to herself, she started to walk away, but the feeling in her seat kept her, "I really need a change." she thought. Reaching up, Melina tugged at her mother's hand softly, "Mommy?" she repeated as she continued tugging, suddenly, her mother's head slipped off of it's perch, rolled down her chest and legs, and fell to the floor with a moist thud. Melina screamed loudly, as she backed away from the severed head, her bladder released itself into her already used diaper, as she tumbled backwards.

Melina looked up to see her former self standing above her, "I like her better this way," the creature said, a sickening smile spreading across it's face, "she's much quieter now." it said, raising it's blood soaked hand to it's mouth, and licking the dark substance, "I do love the sweet taste of innocent blood." it mumbled to itself. Melina rolled to her side, she had gone pale, and she felt the need to vomit, tears were spilling from her eyes, as she shakily rose to her feet, "Why? Why did you kill her?!" she screamed at the creature, her sorrow quickly turning to rage.

The creature slowly walked toward Melina, the glow from the television casting a light on it that made it look all the more terrifying, "A means to an end my child, though her death may seem meaningless and cruel to you, it will serve to drive us to our final confrontation." it told her. "Even now, you can feel something coursing through you, an energy, it's beginning to change you." the creature said, and suddenly moved quickly to be face to face with Melina, "Let it overtake you child, give in to it." it said, and picked Melina up effortlessly and threw her across the room into the wall, Melina started to scream, but the sound was stifled by the crash of her plowing through the wall, and into the room beyond.

Her body ached, she tasted blood, and yet she also felt strong, Melina pulled herself from the rubble, and slowly got to her feet, "I hate you!" she screamed, and ran toward the hole she'd just made, she leapt through it, and continued running, driving herself headfirst into the torso of her former body, the pair crashed through the opposite wall, and collapsed into each other on the outside of the house.

Xazax laughed as it rose to it's feet, holding Melina by her hair, "Impressive, but it will take more than a tantrum like that to combat me." it said, and flung Melina into the street, where she crashed down onto the hood of a parked car, the back end lifting off the ground from the force, and all of the windows exploding in a hail of glass. The car alarm warbled weakly as Melina slowly sat up. Suddenly, Xazax was standing over her, the car alarm now stopped from the second crash, "How easy it would be to finish you now." Xazax said, and lowered itself closer to it's prey.

"Hey!" A voice called out, causing the demon to look up, it was greeted to a face full of green energy, and went flying back a few yards, crashing to the ground in a heap. The man grabbed Melina from the hood of the car, and handed her off to another person, the man then walked into the street toward the now rising demon, "Salam ameli miti ana panissu tasakkan balti ina karpat!" the man chanted, and pointed an outstretched hand at Xazax, a white orb of energy left his hand, and flew to the creature, enveloping it as it were a giant bubble, the man then made a sweeping gesture with his arm, and flung the spherical prison miles into the distance.

Returning to Melina and the others, the man crouched down to meet Melina's eye level, "Are you ready now to believe what's been told to you?" the man asked, slowly removing his hood. Melina's mouth hung open slightly as she softly nodded, "Yes I am, daddy." she said. The group of shrouded men and women, Melina, and her father, stood close together as a woman chanted, and another light came over them, and they were gone.

Chapter Eight: Evolution

The light faded, and Melina and the sorcerer's were standing in huge room filled with giant stone pillars, and little else. As her eyes adjusted, Melina saw a single table sitting a few feet in front of them, two large swords sat on it ominously.

"Melina, this is our base of operations." her father told her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

Melina slipped from under his hand, "How about we put the brakes on where we are, and you start by telling me where you've been, we thought you were dead!" the young girl cried out, tears brimming in her eyes.

Kneeling down to meet his daughter, Mr. Baldwin put both his hands on her shoulders, "I'm sorry that I hurt you Melina, but I'm afraid I can't tell you what happened to me, I'm sorry." he said, and rose to his feet again.

Melina wiped her tears with her sleeve, "Fine, I don't care anyway!" she shouted childishly, "Just tell me what I have to do to get my sister back, she's the only family I have left now." she said, trying to injure her father as badly as possible, but to no avail.

Mr. Baldwin walked to the table, and picked up a small pouch off of it's top, he returned to Melina, opening the pouch as he walked. A small white crystal tumbled out of the overturned pouch, and fell into the man's waiting palm.

"This is the Crystal of Anduar," he said placing the crystal into Melina's hand. The young girl held her palm close to her face and marveled at the beauty the crystal held, "It's very pretty." she said, smiling at the crystal. Suddenly, Melina felt a sharp pain in her hand, she cried out and watched as the crystal began to sink into her hand. "What's going on!" she screamed as the crystal disappeared into her hand.

Her father took her chin in his hand, wiping the tears from her eyes, "The crystal is what's going to get your sister back to you." he said with a smile.

****************

Melina stood in the middle of a painted circle, "What are you guys gonna do to me?" she asked in a frightened tone as she watched the wizards, or whatever they were, mill about the circle, bringing potions and books over.

"We're going to awaken the real you." one of the shrouded figures told her, doing nothing to allay the young girl's fears, or answer her question sufficiently.

One of the shrouded figures placed a dot of some sort of liquid on Melina's forehead, and then stepped outside of the circle, a few of the other druids began to chant, and the line of the painted circle began to glow.

Melina began to look around frantically as a sphere of light enveloped the circle she stood in, she ran to exit the circle, and was thrust back by a powerful blast of energy. Rising slowly, Melina felt the hair on her neck and arms stand on end, and she was suddenly held fast by more energy. The unseen forces that held her body levitated her off the ground and forced her to look up to the ceiling, as she did, a blast of light shot into the dot of liquid on her forehead, her screams were drown out by the sound the energy was producing.

The druids watched intently as Melina began to change, her body began to grow and develop before their eyes. The young girl was aging quickly, her clothes becoming tight against her budding form. The clothes she was wearing began to tear, and soon fell to the ground in tatters, the soiled diaper she had been wearing ripped open against her now adult hips and fell to the ground. The young girl's hair grew out and changed from black to a chestnut, and her body grew to adult proportions. The light faded, and where Melina had stood, a buxom, naked woman in her mid twenties stood, letting the disorientation she was feeling fade away.

Mr. Baldwin entered the circle slowly as the sphere of light disappeared, he approached the confused girl slowly so as not to startle her. he gently draped a blanket over the shoulders of the young woman.

"Annabelle?" he inquired, checking to see if the girls memory was intact. The young woman turned her head, and faced him, "Where am I?" she asked in a quiet tone, her British accent barely traceable.

Mr. Baldwin put an arm around the girl, and walked with her out of the circle and down the long corridor a short way, "Annabelle, you're in the year 2006, we've brought you to this time because the demon Xazax is loose, and you're the only one who's ever defeated him." he told her. The pair stopped walking just short of the table that the swords rested on, Annabelle reached a hand out gently and caressed the blade from tip to hilt.

"Now I know you must be tired from the process, so I've arranged a room for you so that you can rest and get your strength back up, we'll start your training when you awaken." Mr. Baldwin told her. Annabelle plucked the sword from the table and admired it for a moment, then with blinding speed she half turned, swinging the sword in one fluid motion, embedding the blade deep into one of the stone columns. Annabelle smiled at the looks on the startled druids faces, her smile quickly faded as she spoke, "I have a better idea, get me some clothes and weapons, and explain to me how this happened while you take me to the demon."

****************

Xazax rose from the crater his impact to the Earth had made, he dusted himself of and chuckled, "Nicely played sorcerer, but it will help you little in the battle to come." he said to no one, and walked the long walk back to the Baldwin house. The creature reached the house in the wee hours of the morning, flopping onto Melina's bed, it closed her eyes and started to drift off to sleep.

"Wake up!" a voice shouted into Xazax's mind. The creature looked around, and found the room empty.

"Who said that?" it asked the empty room.

"I did." the voice replied.

"And who are you?" Xazax asked.

"I'm the sister of the girl who's body you stole, and I'm very unhappy." Cio said.

Xazax looked around, and still could find no one in the room, "Where are you?" the creature shouted angrily.

"I'm inside your mind, and I'm not ever going to let you get a moments rest." Cio told him with a giggle, and began to sing loudly and off-key.

The guttural roar of the enraged demon prince could be heard two blocks away, and it shattered windows half that far.

Chapter Nine: Round One, FIGHT!

The white light of their mystical transport faded as they appeared on the city street. Annabelle started walking hurriedly in the direction that David, Melina and Cio's father, had informed her was where Xazax would most likely be.

"I don't think you should go rushing into battle like this." David argued with her as he tried to match her feverish pace.

"I don't recall asking what you thought, wizard" she spat as her fast paced walk turned into a run.

Night had taken the city, and the cloudless sky allowed the moon to light their path. Annabelle's sword shimmered in the moonlight with every footfall, giving it an almost enchanted appearance.

"I just think that it would be better if you trained a little before battling Xazax." David told her, his tone still stern and disagreeable

Annabelle ignored David's plight, and continued running. The more she thought about his complaints, the madder she became, with a sigh, the young woman leapt off the ground in mid-stride and grabbed onto a fire escape ladder high above the ground.

"If you'll not support me in my decision to fight, then you'll not fight with me." she hollered down to the mages, and quickly climbed the ladder and continued her journey across the rooftops.

David sighed and looked at the disappointed faces of his fellow wizards, "We must try and continue to follow her," he said and started running again, "if we don't, then all hope will be lost." he shouted behind him.

****************

Xazax sat in the middle of the crudely drawn pentagram chanting softly. Several candles sat around the room, casting an eerie shadow on the face of Melina's body. As the light flickered, her youthful and human features gave way to a demonic face with jagged teeth, and glowing eyes, offering a glimpse at the true horror that lay below the human facade.

"Whatchya doin'?" Cio asked

The demon prince growled softly, and ignored the child's question.

"Hey, Mr. Cranky Pants, I asked you a question." the young girl said.

Another growl from the demon, "I'm performing a ritual to rid myself of the nuissance that is you." he answered in a hushed voice.

Xazax's chanting began to intensify as the ritual progressed. The candles that dotted the room began to burn brighter, and the demon's words became bellows that shook the foundation of the house. As the final words were spoken, a green light flooded the room from the pentagram, and flowed into Xazax. The sinister laughter of the demon prince filled the room as the light shot from his body and blasted through the ceiling and created a pillar of light rising high into the sky.

"Much better." Xazax said as he rose to his feet and looked down upon the unmoving body of Rocio Baldwin.

****************

"Where the devil is this place?" Annabelle asked herself as she looked out over the city from her rooftop perch.

As if in answer to her question, the pillar of green light from the demon princes incantation rose high into the sky from a house off in the distance.

"That looks like a pretty good place to start." she said to herself, and leapt off the roof and continued her trek.

****************

Xazax stood above the unconscious child, a hungry look filling his gaze, "I suppose I have time for a small meal." he said, and crouched down and moved to pick Cio up. Suddenly the bedroom window near him exploded in a rain of broken glass and splintered wood. Xazax looked up just in time to catch Annabelle's boots with his face, sending him flying backward and crashing through two walls and skidding to a halt in the backyard.

"Miss me?" Annabelle asked as she rose from the floor, her gaze deadlocked on the downed demon.

Without hesitation Annabelle sprinted toward her foe, quickly bridging the gap between them, at the final leg of her run, she leapt in the air and landed with her feet square on the demon's chest, illiciting a wheezing groan from him.

"This time you will stay dead." she spat as she unsheathed her sword and grasping it with both hands, she raised it above her head in preparation of the deathblow.

Xazax's eyes shot open, and he held his opened palms up to the woman on his chest, and summoned a burst of energy to blast her away from him. Annabelle flew back toward the house, making new holes in the walls as she passed through and into the street on the other side. Xazax rose, chuckling softly as he walked over to his opponent.

"Finally, the prodigal daughter returns." he said, sauntering over to where Annabelle lay. "But I wonder, is she ready for this encounter? Or has she rushed off headlong into a battle she's ill prepared for?" he asked the motionless girl as he approached her.

Annabelle found her way back to consciousness, and slowly rolled onto her back, her body protesting the movement every step of the way, sending surges of pain throughout her. The young woman slowly and shakily rose to her feet, though she desperately wished she could stay on the ground for a bit longer.

Before she could react, Xazax was behind her, his hand around her throat, he breathed in her scent, "I missed you Annabelle, the entire time I was in the ether my all encompassing thought was seeing you again." he whispered into her ear.

Annabelle gritted her teeth, "Loathsome creature, I'll see you dead this night." she said, reaching slowly for the dagger at her belt.

"Hmm, if memory serves, that's precisely what you said to me last time we did battle." Xazax said.

"If you'll also remember," she drove the dagger into his gut, "I was right that night too." she said as she dropped from his grasp and spun to kick him in the face. Annabelle's foot hung in the demon princes hand, a sinister smile on his face as he spun her by the leg and tossed her a few hundred yards away.

"Foolish mortals, parlor tricks and simple attacks mean nothing to me." he said, removing the dagger from the gaping wound in his belly, a greenish residue oozing from it. The wound quickly healed, and the demon prince stood still for a moment, crouched down, and leapt toward Annabelle's position.

Perched above his foe Xazax laughed heartily, "It's almost not worth killing you." he said to the waking girl.

Annabelle's body ached, she had internal injuries, and her arm was broken in three places, she resisted the urge to cry as she opened her eyes and saw Xazax standing above her. Blood stung her eyes as it rolled down her face. The pain of Xazax's claws plunging into her chest made her scream, losing her tough facade, she wept from the pain, and gasped to continue breathing. More blood came from her mouth as she choked out her every breath.

"It's really quite a shame that the "epic" battle of good and evil turned out to be little more than a mere spat." he told the dying girl as he held her chin in his hand and watched the life slowly drain from her.

"Infernum!" David shouted from behind Xazax, sending a fireball shooting from his hand into the face of the demon. Rushing past where Annabelle lay, he stood between her and Xazax, the only hope of staving off the girl's impending doom. "Get her out of here!" he ordered the other mages.

Xazax rose, the mask that Melina's face was to his true demon nature now hung charred and ragged from the form beneath. Xazax laughed and doubled over, a horrible ripping sound tore through the night air as the facade of Melina's skin seemed to explode off of him.

David's mouth hung open as he watched the metamorphosis, his daughter's once beautiful face now replaced with the ebony scaled skin of the demon prince.

Ragged leathery wings sprung from Xazax's back, spreading widely in an impressive span. "Now wizard, you die." the demon said as he sped toward David.

"Infer-" he started before the demon's hand shot through his chest, holding the wizard's heart in it's palm on the other side. "Fool, I'll not be damaged by the likes of you again." Xazax said to David's impaled corpse before letting it fall to the ground as he removed his arm.

Annabelle wept as she watched the short bout. The white transport light enveloped her and the wizards as Xazax waved goodbye to her sinisterly with one hand, and raised David's heart to his mouth and took a bite of it, smiling widely with blood coated teeth.

"Till we meet again child, till we meet again." he said to the fading light and flew off into the night after it disappeared.

***************

Cio walked barefoot through the street, the night air on her naked body causing her to shiver. Tears were welling up in her eyes as she looked around the foreign terrain of her once familiar neighborhood. "Where am I?" she thought to herself as she continued to wander.

Chapter Ten A: History 101 And Out Of The Frying Pan And Into Hell

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Confucius

The blinding light faded as the mages and Annabelle appeared in the safe house, the injured girl's anguished cries filling the once quiet air of the haven.

"We have to hurry if we're to save her." one of the mages said as she looked upon the badly wounded young woman.

Annabelle's breath came out in blood drenched gasps as she clung to life. Her eyes followed the mages as they moved around her gathering the items necessary to heal her.

The mages circled around Annabelle and began reciting an incantation, a blue light slowly began to cover Annabelle as the mages continued the spell.

Annabelle screamed as the healing power of the spell began to take effect and closed her wounds. Finally succumbing to the pain, Annabelle faded from consciousness, leaving the mages to do their work.

********1895********

Rain poured down onto the sleepy town,‭ ‬the black clouds looming ominously overhead,‭ ‬a deep roar of thunder accompanied shortly after by a long arc of lighting,‭ ‬the storm had arrived.‭ ‬As the townsfolk closed everything up for the night,‭ ‬and prepared to bed down,‭ ‬a figure stood silently at the top of a nearby rock formation,‭ ‬watching and waiting for everything to unfold.‭

"I do hope that this storm doesn't flood the fields like last season.‭" ‬Annabelle said to her father as she dried the dinner dishes and put them away.‭ ‬Her father sat next to the fire,‭ ‬and grunted a reply as he stirred the coals.‭ ‬Annabelle sighed to herself and put the last dish away,‭ "‬I'm going to bed now father,‭ ‬goodnight.‭" ‬she‭ ‬said,‭ ‬making her way to her room,‭ ‬she heard another nonsensical grunt as she passed him,‭ ‬and entered her room,‭ ‬shutting the door behind her.‭

Annabelle sat on her bed for a few moments,‭ ‬listening to the rain pattering down on the roof‭; ‬she sighed again,‭ ‬and began disrobing,‭ ‬folding her dress up,‭ ‬and removing her corset,‭ ‬she placed the two articles in the wicker laundry basket in the corner of the room,‭ ‬and went to her dresser and removed her nightgown,‭ ‬pulling it over her head and buttoning it up,‭ ‬she climbed into bed,‭ ‬and reached over to snuff out the lantern by her bedside before rolling over to go to sleep.‭

In the darkness of the night,‭ ‬a pack of five creatures made their way into town,‭ ‬walking like men‭; ‬the bloodthirsty gang silently strode up to the first house they came to. The demon's brown and almost scaly skin glistened from the rain, their long black hair clung to their faces and bodies, each of the creatures' yellow eyes seemed to glow in the darkness of the cloudy night.

Sniffing the air,‭ ‬the leader of the band of marauders spoke silently to his men,‭ “‬I smell only one male,‭ ‬and two females,‭ ‬kill the man first to guarantee‭ ‬minimal resistance,‭ ‬meet here when they‭’‬re all dead.‭”‬ With his orders given he‭ ‬opened the front door,‭ ‬and the creatures crept in silently,‭ ‬making their way inside,‭ ‬two of the beasts went to the bedroom to the left,‭ ‬while two others made their way to the right bedroom,‭ ‬their leader remained near the front door,‭ ‬in case any of the humans managed to break free of his men.‭

In the left bedroom,‭ ‬the creatures came across a husband and wife in bed,‭ ‬blissfully sleeping away,‭ ‬as the creatures crept inside the room a floor board creaked loudly under ones foot,‭ ‬they froze,‭ ‬and watched the couple intently,‭ ‬the man slowly opened his eyes,‭ ‬upon seeing the creatures,‭ ‬he shot up in bed.‭ ‬One of the creatures leapt for him,‭ ‬slashing his throat with his claws,‭ ‬nearly severing the man‭’‬s head completely from his body,‭ ‬the other creature made his way to the wife,‭ ‬and grabbed her by the throat as she slept,‭ ‬cocking his wrist slightly,‭ ‬the creature snapped her neck,‭ ‬the two beasts then began feeding upon the two humans.‭

The other two creatures stood in the bedroom of the daughter,‭ ‬the young girl rolled over,‭ ‬and sleepily opened‭ ‬her eyes and closed them slowly,‭ ‬then opened them quickly and screamed when she saw the two creatures in the darkness,‭ ‬she moved to get out of bed,‭ ‬but the creatures pounced on her,‭ ‬and began to devour her while she was still alive.‭

Annabelle sat up in her bed,‭ ‬she thought she had heard a child‭’‬s scream,‭ ‬she lit her lantern,‭ ‬and put on her robe and slippers,‭ ‬and quickly and quietly mad her way to her sisters‭’‬ room,‭ ‬she opened the door,‭ ‬and peaked her head in,‭ ‬seeing that the two girls were still sleeping,‭ ‬she went to the front door,‭ ‬opened it slightly,‭ ‬and looked outside,‭ ‬she saw several of the townsfolk with their lanterns running towards the Adams‭’‬ house near the end of town,‭ ‬she could hear shouting,‭ ‬but couldn‭’‬t make out what was being said,‭ ‬she closed the door,‭ ‬and went back to her room.‭

As Annabelle was closing her door,‭ ‬she‭ ‬heard a scuffle from her father‭’‬s room‭; ‬she opened the door again,‭ ‬and went to her father‭’‬s room,‭ ‬she reached up to knock on the door,‭ ‬when suddenly the door exploded,‭ ‬sending her tumbling backwards,‭ ‬and shattering her lantern on the floor,‭ ‬in the waning firelight she looked up at the doorway,‭ ‬she began to scream at the sight of her father's bloody face looking up at her,‭ ‬impaled at the neck by a large sharpened portion of door.‭ ‬On shaky legs,‭ ‬Annabelle turned and got up,‭ ‬running for the front door,‭ ‬her vision blurred by tears.‭

Outside,‭ ‬Annabelle ran toward the crowd at the end of the village,‭ ‬she slipped on the wet ground as she was looking behind her to make sure she was not being followed,‭ ‬and went sprawling into the mud,‭ ‬as she was getting back up,‭ ‬she was grabbed by her hair,‭ ‬and pulled to her feet,‭ ‬now face to face with one of the creatures.‭ “‬I love a good chase,‭”‬ the creature hissed,‭ ‬before tossing her back toward the house,‭ ‬the girl sliding‭ ‬across the ground,‭ ‬screaming the whole way,‭ ‬before stopping in front of the house,‭ “‬but all good things must come to an end.‭”‬ He said with a sadistic grin as he walked over to where she now lay.

Annabelle kicked at the monster,‭ ‬as he reached down for her,‭ ‬he snarled and as he grabbed her hair again,‭ ‬a dagger flew through the air,‭ ‬not more than two inches from her face,‭ ‬and stabbed the creature through the wrist and pinning him to to the side of the house.‭ T‬he beast let out a guttural roar,‭ ‬and turned to face‭ ‬his attacker.‭ ‬The creature was greeted by a boot to the face,‭ smashing his head‬ into the side of the house,‭ ‬splintering the wood with the impact.‭ ‬The sound of another weapon being unsheathed was the last thing he heard,‭ ‬as the sword of his assailant‭ ‬cut through his neck,‭ ‬removing his head from his body,‭ ‬causing his body to literally melt into a putrid black ooze.‭

Annabelle looked up,‭ ‬and only saw a cloaked figure standing above her,‭ ‬the figure put out a hand to help her up,‭ “‬Come child,‭ ‬we really should be going.‭”‬ The woman‭’‬s voice said as Annabelle rose to her feet.

‭ “‬Who are you‭?”‬ she asked, trying to catch her breath after her harrowing ordeal.‭

‭“‬Now is not the time my dear,‭ ‬but soon all will be explained.‭”‬ The‭ ‬cloaked woman said,‭ ‬as she pushed Annabelle into walking toward the forest path at the side of the village.‭

As the two women neared the path,‭ ‬the three grunt creatures came running up behind them,‭ ‬the cloaked woman turned to face the assailants‭; ‬she unsheathed‭ ‬her sword again,‭ ‬the blade ringing slightly as the rain hit it.‭ ‬Two of the creatures leapt for her,‭ ‬she pivoted to the left quickly,‭ ‬and crouched down,‭ ‬as the two beasts flew past her,‭ ‬she rose,‭ ‬and slashed at the creature nearest her,‭ ‬and split him in half in mid-air,‭ the creatures severed, melting body hit the ground and smeared across the muddy earth. Moving through the first attack, ‬she stabbed the second attacker through the heart,‭ ‬as the two enemies hit the ground and finished fading away,‭ ‬she turned to face the third.‭ ‬Annabelle watched in awe the speed and grace with which her nameless savior dispatched her foes,‭ ‬she marveled also at how the beasts bodies melted away.‭

The third beast stood his ground and waited for the cloaked woman to make the first move,‭ ‬she didn‭’‬t disappoint,‭ ‬she slashed at the beast,‭ ‬and missed as he leapt backward,‭ ‬and dropped down,‭ ‬sweeping his leg under the woman‭’‬s,‭ ‬tripping her,‭ ‬and sending her to the ground.‭ ‬Wasting no time,‭ ‬he kicked the sword from her hand,‭ ‬and straddled her,‭ ‬pinning her arms down,‭ ‬he moved in to feed,‭ ‬when he was grabbed at the torso by the cloaked woman‭’‬s legs,‭ ‬and thrown to the ground.‭ ‬Rising quickly,‭ ‬she went to her discarded‭ ‬weapon‭;‬ the creature got up,‭ ‬and lunged at her and was impaled by her sword as she held it out behind her.‭ ‬No sooner had she sheathed her sword again,‭ ‬did she hear the sound of someone clapping,‭ ‬she turned and saw the lead monster,‭ ‬standing near them,‭ ‬smiling.

‭ “‬I applaud you,‭ ‬those were some of my best men,‭ ‬you truly are a great warrior Miss‭?”‬ he paused and waited for her answer.‭

‭“‬My name is‭ ‬Dravina Vasis,‭ ‬and you are‭?”‬ she asked.‭

‭T‬he man-beast smiled again,‭ “‬I am Xazax,‭ ‬the demon prince.‭”.‬ Dravina stood on guard,‭ “‬Our battle will not take place here and now Dravina,‭ ‬but rest assured,‭ ‬it will happen,‭ ‬and I will kill you.‭”‬ He said,‭ ‬and‭ ‬turned his back to the two women, he began to glow with a faint blue light, a horrible ripping sound pierced the silence of the night as Xazax sprouted ragged black wings and leapt into the air and flew away.‭

Dravina turned to Annabelle,‭ “‬Let‭’‬s go dear,‭ ‬we have much to discuss,‭ ‬I have a cabin nearby.‭”‬ She said, taking the girl by the hand and putting a cloak over the soaked woman as they walked into the forest toward Dravina's cabin.

Chapter Ten B

********Present********

Xazax sat perched on the ledge of a skyscraper downtown, he listened with his demon senses to the reports of death and chaos all around the town and smiled. "Only the beginning." he thought to himself.

Flying to the top of the building Xazax raised his hands to the sky and began chanting, the moon began to turn blood red and then the Earth began to shake, he continued chanting as the shaking intensified. The ground split in many areas, jets of steam shooting from them and green light emanating forth. Demons began to claw their way from the gashes in the Earth, people on the street screamed and ran in terror form the evil spewing from the ground. Hundreds of demons made their way to the surface and flew and climbed to the top of the skyscraper where their master was.

"My minions!" Xazax bellowed to the growing army congregating before him. "The world is ours for the taking, go forth and bring pain and death to the humans in the name of your lord Xazax!" he commanded, and watched with great pleasure as the masses of evil left him and began to destroy in his name.

********1897********
Nearly three years had gone by since the night Dravina had rescued Annabelle from Xazax and his minions, in that time she'd taught Annabelle how to fight her enemies, she'd taught her everything she could in preparation for the eventual face off with Xazax.

"The time for your battle is drawing nigh child, I believe you are ready, would you agree?" Dravina asked as she sipped her tea.

Annabelle remained quiet for a long while, "I believe I am, but I still don't understand why I must be the one to fight Xazax." she said.

Dravina took her hand in hers, "Child it has been foretold that a young woman of simple decent would be the one to bring an end to Xazax's reign. I believe you to be that woman." she said.

Annabelle sighed, "But what if you're wrong and I fail?" she asked.

The old woman smiled, "I would not have invested this much time in training you if I was unsure that you were the one." Dravina told her.

Their conversation was cut short by a knock on the front door, Dravina rose and went to open the door, a cloaked figure stood in waiting outside, "He is coming." the man told Dravina when she opened the door.

Dravina nodded and thanked the man, she started to close the door when the man's chest exploded, an ebony arm forcing it's way through his rib cage and grabbing Dravina by the wrist. "I apologize my dear, but it would seem that his information is a bit out of date." Xazax said as he emerged form behind the dead man. With a quick flick of his wrist Xazax tossed Dravina through the side wall of her cabin. Letting the dead messenger drop Xazax entered the cabin, "Hello Annabelle." he said as he approached the young woman.

Annabelle turned and ran to the sword rack at the back of the cabin, she plucked one from the rack and turned to face her foe, "I have no fear of you anymore demon!" she shouted as she held the sword pointed at him.

Xazax chuckled and continued to move toward her, "The stench of fear is coming off you in waves child." he said as he moved the sword aside and moved in closer to Annabelle.

Dravina quietly staggered her way back into the cabin and crept behind the demon prince, she held her dagger over her head and stabbed at her assailant, Xazax turned and grabbed the woman by the wrists, "Old fool." he said and lifted her off the ground, "I tire of your insolence." he said and snapped the old woman's wrists bringing screams of pain from her.

Annabelle watched in horror as the events unfolded before her, she moved her sword back into position and lunged forth, piercing the demon prince's scaly hide and heart. Xazax bellowed in pain and dropped Dravina, he fell to his knees and continued to scream. Annabelle drove the sword deeper into him and held it tightly as he began to convulse. Cracks began to form all over his body, light emanating from them as he continued to shake. A great whooshing sound tore through the air in the cabin and the light engulfed the room, it got brighter and brighter until the demon prince exploded, destroying the cabin and sending Dravina and Annabelle flying.

Annabelle woke up after several hours of unconsciousness, she didn't recognize where she was. After an hour of walking she came to the smoldering crater that was once Dravina's cabin. She searched all over, but found no trace of Xazax or Dravina. Annabelle lived out the rest of her life never knowing what really happened to Dravina and Xazax that night.

********Present********

Annabelle padded through the halls of the safe haven of the mages, she checked every room and found no trace of the mages. Dressing herself in some clothes she'd found, she left the compound. The world was a different place then before she'd fought Xazax, now it was darker and colder, mangled corpses adorned the street and the screams of innocent people and sirens filled the night air. The sky was littered with demons who's screeches could be heard for miles, and they all circled near a tall building. "That's where he is." she thought to herself. Annabelle stood and stared at the skyscraper for a long while, "I can't beat him." she thought, "I got lucky when Dravina and I fought him, but he nearly killed me earlier." she sighed and turned away from the building, pulling the hood of her cloak up she walked away from the skyscraper and from her destiny.

Chapter Eleven: Dark New Day

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill

Annabelle walked silently as the rain began to patter down on her. The world around her had become a harsh and bleak caricature of it's original form. As she walked down the street she passed people as they ran by screaming, fires had broken out in areas of the city both from the mayhem caused by the demons, as well as from the random looters and firebugs. A tear rolled down her cheek as she thought of her failure, her defeat at the hands of Xazax, and all the lives that would be lost because she just couldn't cut it.

****************

"My Lord, the woman is departing the city." One of Xazax's underlings reported as he kneeled before his master.

Xazax sat on a pile of collected corpses that he'd had his minions gather for him. "Hmm, her defeat must have been too much for her to bear. Perhaps we should put her out of her misery." he mused to the cowering low-demon. "Bring her to me!" he commanded with a wave of his hand.

"Yes my Lord, at once!" the low-demon said as he flapped his wings and departed the rooftop.

"You'll not escape death that easily my dear." Xazax said with a faint smile appearing on his lips.

****************

Annabelle heard a roar a few blocks ahead of her, whatever was up there sounded big and angry. She felt the bitterness of defeat creep up again as she opted to take an alley route around the area where a fight would ensue.

"What kind of hero am I?" she asked herself. "I'm too afraid to even go up against a lowly demon." she thought as she emerged from the alley and saw the beast she'd avoided in the distance.

Standing roughly twenty feet in height, with a giant stone club and what resembled ram horns on it's head was the demon that was rampaging in the street. "Nasty bugger by the looks of him." she thought with a sigh and turned to walk away.

"Help! Please, someone help me!" came the cry of a young child from where the demon was.

Annabelle turned and looked for where the voice had come from, she saw a young girl inside of a smashed up bus. The demon was looming over it, clearly sizing it up for the kill. Annabelle got a flash of a young girl that resembled the one in the bus, "What the devil was that?" she thought as she shook the image from her head, a renewed sense of strength inside her, a strength she needed to use to protect the young girl.

Running toward the demon Annabelle whistled loudly to get the beasts attention. The demon turned and looked toward her and issued a monstrous roar in reply to her approach. "That worked well." she thought as she unsheathed her sword as she ran. The demon swung his club around to swat her away, Annabelle dropped to the ground and felt the force of the club whizzing overhead and smashing into a building nearby. "Bloody brilliant idea Anna!" she chided herself as she rose from the ground.

As she started running toward the monster again she heard several gunshots and saw the demon roar as he was shot at. Annabelle looked around for the source of the reports, she saw a man standing atop the smashed bus, two large pistols in his hands firing away at the threat.

"Get the girl!" he yelled to her as he ran down the busses roof away from the beast, guns blazing as he ran.

Annabelle nodded and closed the gap between her and the bus. The demon had taken to chasing after the man with the guns, so her approach was unimpeded. Climbing into the bus she made her way to the back where the young girl was.

"Are you alright?" she asked the naked and crying child.

The young girl looked up at her and nodded softly, "Thank you for rescuing me sister." the girl said as she wrapped her arms around Annabelle's waist to hug her tightly.

Another flash came to her head, "Cio?" she thought, "Who is this girl, and why does she seem so familiar?" she asked herself.

Wrapping Cio in her cloak she picked up the young girl and carried her from the bus. Annabelle stopped and let Cio down, pushing her away as she saw a giant stone club rocketing toward her. She felt something crash into her from the side and pull her aside just before the club smashed into the bus, twisting the metal and shattering the windows, sending the bus flying into the side of a building in a heap of destruction and flames.

Annabelle looked up and saw the man with the guns laying over her. "You alright love?" he asked with a delightful Irish accent. Annabelle felt herself nod as he helped her up quickly. "Right then, get the girl and let's get outta here." he said, unholstering his weapons and firing upon the demon once again.

Annabelle tasted blood, her head was throbbing, and she felt a warm wetness flowing down her leg. "I'm tired of running." she thought. "Nothing is going to change from running, I have to face my fears." she said quietly to herself as she picked up her sword and walked toward the demon, a new resolve in her actions.

"I don't mean to sound rude, but are you out of your fucking mind?" The man with the guns yelled at her as she walked toward the demon.

Annabelle stood before the behemoth, looking up into his glowing orange eyes. "You're making an awful mess of the town." she said to it, getting a spittle drenched roar in reply. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as she saw the creature's left hand reach toward her, she jumped into the air and stabbed her sword into the demon's appendage as it swiped past her. The beast roared and flung it's hand upward, dislodging her sword and sending her flying into the air. Turning in midair Annabelle fell toward the demon's head, her sword pointed down at it. The sword pierced the fleshy spot between it's horns and drove through to the demon's brain, effectively putting it out of the game. As the beast collapsed to the ground Annabelle pulled her sword out and leapt to the man with the guns. "Now we can go." she said with a disturbing smirk.

The man with the guns watched her as she walked away with Cio in her arms, and then turned to look at the demon. "I guess so." he said with a smile and turned to catch up with the girls.

******************

"The name's Cutty." the man with the guns said as they walked.

"Annabelle." she said distractedly as she looked around for more enemies.

"And who might you be pet?" he asked as he turned to look at Cio.

"My name's Cio, and this is my sister Melina. I think she bumped her head, because she thinks she's somebody else." the young girl said as she looked hard at Annabelle.

"Well my dear, I'm afraid it's much more complicated than all of that." he said with a smile as they continued walking.

Coming to a large dilapidated warehouse, Cutty motioned for the girls to enter, and then went in after them, closing the large door behind him.

Annabelle looked around to make sure the warehouse was secure, satisfied she turned to Cutty. "So, what's your story?" she asked, taking a seat on a large wire spool.

Cutty sat across from her on the hood of a truck, "Simple really, I'm here because of you." he said lighting a cigarette.

"How's that work?" she asked quizzically.

"Well, you have a prophecy, didya think you were the only one?" he asked with a chuckle.

"Ok, so what's your prophecy say?" she asked, wishing he'd just tell her instead of toying with her.

"Well, in a nutshell, because your prophecy came to pass, mine kicked in." he told her.

Annabelle looked at him with a confused brow furrow. "But I failed my prophecy, I was supposed to destroy Xazax." she said.

Cutty raised an eyebrow, "I'm afraid you've been misinformed love." he told her. "Y'see, your prophecy says:

'The sisters of fortune,' "That'd be you two."
'one holding the essence of the undying evil,' "That'd be Xazax and the little one."
'the other holding the spirit of the eternal warrior,' "That'd be you Anna and this Melina that the girl calls you."
'will bring about the reign of the undying evil when the fates are aligned, the transmogrification is complete and the soul of the eternal warrior returns to the spirit world.' "So, you were never meant to destroy Xazax, just to bring him into the world, actually according to this, you're supposed to be dead." he said with a grim expression as he finished reading the passage from his notebook and put it away.

Annabelle sat in silence for a long while as she processed the information laid before her. "But that's impossible, Dravina was the one to tell me of the prophecy, and the mages, they performed the ritual in accordance with the prophecy." she shouted at him.

Cutty looked down at the ground, "I'd like to tell you that they were just mistaken, but somehow I doubt that they put the remedial reader of the group on prophecy translation." he said.

"So they lied to me?! Is that what you're saying?!" she yelled, tears forming in her eyes, her heart aching with the realization she'd been deceived.

Cutty said nothing, he just sat and let the young woman work out her anger.

"So what does your prophecy say?" she asked.

Cutty pulled out his notebook again, 'When the destiny of the eternal warrior has been realized, the kingdomless fighter shall appear and vanquish the undying evil, thus restoring peace and balance to the world.' "So, looks like I'm the white knight." he said with a somber smile.

The warehouse remained silent for a long while, everyone taking in the information. "But I'm not dead, so my prophecy isn't fulfilled yet!" Annabelle finally said.

"Moot point love, Xazax is here, and it's me who's gonna take him down." Cutty told her.

"But I can help you." she said.

"And who's gonna take care of her when you're killed?" he asked, pointing to a sleeping Cio.

"She comes, the prophecy includes us both." she told him.

Cutty shook his head, "No! You wasting your life for no good reason is one thing, but I won't let you drag her down with you. War is no place for a kid!" he shouted, his voice ringing off the walls of the warehouse.

"You can't stop me, and besides, it's not like she's powerless, she's part of the prophecy." she reasoned.

Cutty sat back down, and lit another cigarette, "Fine, but her death is on your hands and God damn you for bringing it on her." he said and left the warehouse.

Annabelle picked Cio up gently and held the sleeping girl close to her. "I won't let anything happen to you sister, I swear it." she said and lay down with her to go to sleep.
