When I started this I was just going to call it "The Art of the Switch" but then I though people might think of the type of switch that is a thin, flexible stick, often used in the BDSM scene. Wrong switch. I want to talk about those of you who are lifestyle switches like Daphne Apple (ABDreams.com) or Pampered Penny/Miss Penny Barber (pamperedpenny.com). Both these women actively participates as a caretakers and charges whereas most participants usually choose one or another outlet. I am curious what makes these "switches" tick. I am currently trying to find my place in the community. For years I classified myself as an AB, with a few DL tendencies. However, being that I am still "closeted" about this side of my personality, it is very hard to "practice," which has led to a decline in my AB tendencies, but an increase in the DL side. Now I am becoming interested in what it might be like to be a caretaker. I still treasure my AB feelings and I like to act on them when I can, even though the opportunity rarely strikes, but at the same time, I'd love to here about things from the perspective of an ACTIVE caretaker, someone who has a significant other or who does sessions as a "mommy", "daddy", or similar position. So, lets here what y'all have to say.
